Cops slaughter move to arrest

TWICE he tried to be arrested, but both times soca singer Mr Slaughter presented himself to police they sent him away.

Having heard that a warrant had been issued for his arrest over an alleged assault, Slaughter (real name Derrick Perreira) went to St Clair Police Station on Tuesday afternoon, and again yesterday morning, and couldn’t get himself arrested.

In the first attempt, sources said, Slaughter’s attorneys were told that the officer with the warrant was not present and therefore the singer should return the next day.

“They said they couldn’t ‘accommodate’ them,” a source said.

When Slaughter returned at around 7.15 am yesterday, the source said, officers informed him “they had instructions from a senior official to not execute the warrant until further notice.”

A St Clair officer, in a brief telephone interview yesterday, told the Guardian: “The matter is still being investigated and the warrant was not executed.”

He declined to comment further but said Slaughter was expected to return to the station today.
The entertainer, when contacted yesterday, declined to comment.

Mark: Votes for PNM Toilets

Government is handing out free toilet sets in order to win votes in the upcoming general election, UNC Senator Wade Mark charged yesterday.

Mark, who claimed that Government had given away free water tanks in the last general election, said the PNM administration had hit upon “a new scheme” for this coming campaign in the form of “free toilet sets to all citizens who are in need of it.”

“Mr Vice-President, I understand that they are bribing people with toilet sets,” Mark fumed.

The statement which was made during the debate on the Muncipal Corporation bill provoked laughter from all sides.

What can you expect from the PNM?

This is real shit!

Pointe-a-Pierre MP Gillian Lucky says her placing seventh in last weekend's National Political Kaiso Monarch competition proves that bravery reaps rewards.

"My experience on Saturday proved beyond reasonable doubt that once people are brave to enter into any arena, and they are prepared to put country first, that they will be well received," Lucky told the Express yesterday during the Parliament's tea break.

Lucky shared the stage with several top calypsonians at the Hasely Crawford Stadium on Saturday and sang "Ah eh fraid them", which won her seventh place-tying with All Rounder.
"I feel lucky, no pun intended, and also privileged that I tied with somebody who is a veteran, All Rounder, who gave me some very good advice," Lucky said.

She expressed her heartfelt thanks to family, friends, fellow calypsonians and her parents for all their support.

Lucky said the audience gave a listening ear, adding "I have given a message and I want it to sink in".

When questioned as to whether she has aspirations to compete next year, she said it was to early to tell.

Lucky said at this time she is focusing on Parliament and the legal profession.

Yes Papa! Bravery really reap rewards.

But really, bravery is when yuh get Fuad to cut off that clit, full that cyat wid a load ah gravel Rowley teef and give yuh family permission to develop dat property in La Romaine. Then take ah 14 inch dildo and stitch it on for yuh.

Then gyul yuh go reap rewards in ah real professional way.

St James fracas: probe into senior policeman completed

Denyse Renne drenne@trinidadexpress.com
Tuesday, July 10th 2007

The investigation into the conduct of a member of the T&T Police Executive has been completed and is intransit to Commissioner of Police Trevor Paul.

Sources said yesterday the probe, which was conducted by Sen Supt for the Western Division Roderick Roach, was recently completed.

Roach had reportedly made recommendations that no disciplinary action be taken against those involved and that things were also done "above board".

The probe came following the June 29 release of four people-one of them the 22-year-old son of the Executive member-following a fracas with three police constables in St James.

The three officers, from the St James Police Station, sought medical attention at the Port of Spain General Hospital for soft tissue damage and other injuries sustained during the brawl.

Statements recorded by the constables were made in the station diary, while the senior's time of calls to the station were recorded in the telephone message registrar.

The senior's son is a Special Reserve Police (SRP). Upon his arrest, he was expected to be charged with attempted larceny of a Mitsubishi Galant car, resisting arrest, using obscene language and assaulting police officers. Another SRP, who is the son of a woman police inspector, along with two women, were also to be charged with resisting arrest, assaulting police officers and using obscene language.

Reports state that the SRPs and their female friends were liming during the early hours of the morning outside Smokey and Bunty's, on the St James Main Road, when a joint army and police patrol arrived on the scene. The officers told the group they had been receiving reports about loud noise and warned them.

However, the senior officer's son started shoving one of the constables and cussing him. A call was placed for back-up, but the officers were further abused by the SRPs and their female friends.

For all yuh info, the senior officer is ACP Gilbert Reyes. So when yuh see that mudder cont talking up in he asshole at dem weekly press conferences, know that he is a big fockin slacker and called the station to get he son off.

Now how the fock Roachy could recommend that every thing was done "above fockin board."

You see how this fockin Police service corrupted and this is the main reason why fockin criminal feel free to do wa d fock dey want in this country!

Pundit says MP cursed him

Pundit Ramlakan said:
The MP told him: “Your mother c!!!.”
He immediately got up and told police that Achong had cussed him.
“His mouth was stink of rum... so stink of rum that I almost get drunk.”

BY ANIKA GUMBS-SANDIFORD

DAY one of the obscene language case against Point Fortin Member of Parliament Larry Achong got off to a heated start yesterday.

The State’s two main witnesses—Pundit Ganga Ramlakan and the complainant in the matter Insp Deonarine Basdeo—took the witness stand.

Ramlakan, a pundit for the past 30 years, was forced to repeat the alleged cuss words approximately seven times during his testimony, as he recalled the November 9, 2006, anti-smelter meeting at Chatham Youth Camp, where it is alleged Achong cussed him.

From as early as 8 am yesterday, People’s National Movement supporters began gathering outside Point Fortin Magistrates’ Court to lend support to their MP.

Around 9 am, Achong, accompanied by his common-law wife, chief executive officer of San Fernando City Corporation Marlene Coudray, arrived.

Flanked by several PNMites as he made his way into the courtroom, there were shouts of: “We support you.”

Minutes later, Ramlakan, dressed in a yellow and white dhoti, arrived in court with State attorney Quincy Marshall.

As Achong waited for his matter to be called, a man who was arrested over the weekend—after police officers overheard him cussing on his cellphone—was fined $200 for the offence.
In default he would serve 30 days in prison.

At around 9.30 am, Magistrate Siumongal Ramsaran, presiding in the Second Court, called the matter, but it was quickly stood down for one hour after both the State and defence team, led by Osbourne Charles, SC, indicated that they were ready to proceed.

When the matter was recalled, Ramlakan took the witness stand. His 25-minute testimony caused eyebrows to raise and several murmurs were heard echoing throughout the courtroom.
The court heard that around 6.30 pm on November 9, 2006, Ramlakan was at the anti-smelter meeting in Chatham when Achong arrived.

Ramlakan said he was sitting in the second row of the meeting approximately three feet from Achong and was shouting: “No smelter... No smelter.”

Achong, Ramlakan said, turned around to him and gesticulated for him to come forward.
When he did so, he told the court that the MP told him: “Your mother c!!!”

Look again eh how these PNM niggas is.

Cro Cro, Chalkie in 'political' tie

Gypsy booed, Lucky cheered
Wayne Bowman

Cro Cro has retained his title of National Political Kaiso Monarch, but this time around he shares it with Chalkdust who tied with the Mighty Midget to jointly claim the challenge trophy and $100,000 first prize at the finals of the competition that took place on Saturday night at the Hasely Crawford Stadium.

The two veterans each scored a total of 257 points, beating their 24 opponents in what was a much less volatile square off than had been anticipated.

In defence of his title, Cro Cro performed a song entitled "Patrick Is Boss" in which Cro Cro stated that when he went around asking women what party they would be voting for in the upcoming general elections, they all proclaimed the PNM.

Cro Cro further sang: "Stain yuh finger for the Balisier because Stalin say, Dookeran is a old cross. Panday is a dead horse. Patrick is the boss."

As he sang each chorus, Cro Cro jumped onto a spring rocking horse that represented UNC Political Leader Basdeo Panday, riding it as the audience cheered.

Chalkdust performed "D Screening Test," in which he sang that while the various political parties were screening people to represent them at the polls, he was conducting his own tests to decipher who he would lend his support to.

Chalkie sang that all three major parties had thieves within them and so it was a matter of selecting the one who would steal the least.

One of the night's most appreciated calypsoes was performed by Cardinal who the audience laughing as he performed "Vote Wisely".

Cardinal's intro featured three PNM pallbearers bringing the UNC in a casket to the stage and as his performance began Cardinal sang that the UNC was dead already, so the only party there was to vote for was the PNM.

He continued claiming that he was not trying to tell the people what party they should vote for, but simply counselling them that they should not vote "fuh cop." He placed third with a score of 255 points.

While the majority of finalists were pro-PNM there were calypsonians voicing their support of other parties.

Gypsy, who came out in support of the UNC, was booed heavily as he performed "This Is My Land." As Gypsy sang lyrics such like "Ah not staying quiet again. Down with them, the power of any land resides in the people's hand," the balisiers went up and many of the more than 10,000 patrons started to shout and boo as Gypsy performed.

Eventually several patrons approached the stage throwing objects at Gypsy and waving balisiers and other items at him, while the police including a superintendent, looked on from the side of the stage.

Gypsy rallied and went on to complete his performance without missing a beat.

He made the statement before leaving the stage that when Trinidad and Tobago became like Venezuela the people such as those who were heckling him will be contented. Members of the audience continued to boo as he made his final exit.

Just look at the behaviour of niggas.

They eh even give tima ah day to listen to one word of the man song, but they waving balisier and fockin booin.

Niggas are so fockin stupid and illiterate that they done pick dey fockin balisier and gone down Hasely Crawford. Unless they ha balisier plant dong in the stadium.

They went there not in the interest of hearing good political kaisos but to support the PNM.

See Manning could make these baboons eat fockin grass and is still PNM all the way.
