Museveni urges role for Caricom in Africa

BY GEISHA KOWLESSAR

The Caribbean Community (Caricom) may soon play an integral role in Africa if visiting Ugandan President Youweri Museveni has his way.

Museveni yesterday announced his intention to make the regional body an “observer” in the African Union.

Addressing a large crowd of participants colourfully bedecked in elaborate African wear, Museveni said he was impressed with the achievements of Caricom.

“I would support the idea of Caricom becoming an observer in the African Union or the sixth region of the African Union... There are five regions and I would want Caricom to become the sixth,” he said.

Speaking from a podium at the Brian Lara Promenade in Port-of-Spain, Museveni also said he was impressed with the overall development of T&T, citing the free-education-for-all system.
Describing T&T as an “industrialised economy,” Museveni said much more could be achieved if the Caribbean became united.

“You must not only unite yourselves as black people, but you must also unite yourselves as Caribbean people,” he said.

“You may think these islands are small but they are not small at all... If you act together you will be stronger.”

He added that plans were on the drawing board to make Africa a united place with the coming together of all groups and states.

“We are working to unite East Africa and eventually the whole of Africa,” said the Ugandan president.

Expressing his delight in seeing so may people supporting their ancestral heritage, Museveni said, “I feel as if I’m in some part of Africa.”

The crowd responded with lusty cheers.

However, unlike the participants, Museveni himself was not in traditional African attire, but instead wore a baby-blue, short-sleeved cotton shirt, light grey trousers and a broad-brimmed hat.
His wife Janet was similarly garbed in a flowing lime green outfit devoid of any fancy embroidery, black sandals and a woven straw hat.

Off course with the resources of T&T, why not really make Caricom the sixth region of Africa.

The fockin PNM niggas only show you one side of T&T Museveni. They probably didnt tell you that it ha more Indians in T&T, they didnt tell you that the PNM encourage niggas to rob and kidnap Indian people. So ah wont blame yuh, but if I was you doh study Manning and fockin Selwyn Cudjoe. They like real slave drivers and will suck out the resources of Uganda.

They still have niggas in Trinidad under slavery.

Notice d dotish fockers wear African wear while you and yuh wife look resplendent in typical European wear.

Doh come back again Museveni. Run from dem fockers.

I know this if off topic but I'm looking into starting my own weblog and was curious what all is needed to get setup? I'm assuming having a blog like yours would cost a pretty
penny? I'm not very internet smart so I'm not 100% sure.
Any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated.
